Updated Electronic Notes

I talked about keeping notes electronically previously in the post Electronic Notes. I am constantly tweaking things as I go to best meet my needs.   I no longer keep 2 different types of notes. Really I just want notes that I keep on my students.     Thank you so much for your awesome blog. I have appreciated having it as a resource. I would also like to make a copy of your google docs, especially your counseling doc for this year and the student/staff/parent request doc you have created. My school has over 600 students and I'm constently working at staying on top of things. I hate when something falls off my radar. If I end up tweaking anything I'll let you know how it works.     Hi, Emily! I am just getting ready to begin my first year as an elementary school counselor! I have been admiring your blog and shared it with my administrator who also LOVES it! I have re-created referral forms using Google Forms just as you had shared and think they are wonderful; however, as I prepare to roll them out to teachers and staff, I am a little concerned as to how they will respond to this "change"! I also have a few questions on the data that is collected- sent to a spreadsheet- and how you are using the data. In addition, I'm curious about other notes, such as a phone/communication log. It would be great to start the school year using only technology as a form of note taking and referrals! Would you be willing to connect via e-mail?     Love your form! It is very similar to the one I have. I have found that Google automatically puts a time and date stamp on your entries so I don't have a slot for time and date. The only problem with that is that sometimes I enter the information later than the actual time.

      That is why I have the date and time. I often don't put my notes in until later.

    Howdy! I'm a first year counselor and was considering a similar system, but am concerned regarding confidentiality. Are we keeping client (student) confidentiality when keeping digital notes on Google? I ask because G-mail is constantly reminding me that my district is the "Google administrator". This to me implies that once I save something on the drive it becomes public to the district and I am no longer in compliance with confidentiality practices. I hope that over thinking it. Thoughts?
